Nextdoor: Neighborhood Network التعليقات التطبيق

Tyranny of the Mods

This apps allows you to connect to your real neighbors. However it is constantly plagued by the Tyranny of the Mods who work to delete posts that they do not personally agree with. Mods work in ND in the dark, scrutinizing everything that is posted. While true, the mods are volunteers and they have an icon next to their names. However, they operate in the silent. There is NO list of Mods in your community available for basic neighbors to see, except mods. I’ve seen mods create post that are rule violations (eg National Politics) but when I report them; they don’t get removed. However on the flip side, if I were to post something similar (even if it’s a cut and paste) it would get removed for the violation. Nextdoor is a platform that is run by a small group of volunteer Mods that makes it hard for neighbors to communicate.

Notifications

The app will not allow me to delete a notification. When I swipe to the left across it the delete area in red does not stay on the screen not allowing me to press it and delete the notification. This app has numerous issues!

Took a turn for the worst

When Nextdoor started it was clean and useful. Now it is a cluster of ads and endless notifications.

Biased and not treated equally

I downloaded Nextdoor to connect with my neighbors and thought it was great at first. I looked into the rules to see if you’re allowed to share your business on your personal feed and saw that is not prohibited therefore you CAN. I’m an experienced groomer and before even posting my services I ASKED THE COMMUNITY if they were INTERESTED in my services. And I got an overwhelming amount of people in my messages and comment section saying they were definitely interested. So , I went ahead and created everything for them to do online booking and posted that everything was set for them to book their dog for a bath or groom. I started posting the cutes dogs I was grooming and videos and updating my availability and the neighbors were very sweet and happy with the service and posts. I never had negative feedback. My account was suspended. So I was confused and later found out it was due to “spam” . I never meant to spam anyone, in fact, I had people literally asking me to keep posting. When I got my Nextdoor account back, I immediately informed everyone that I did NOT WANT TO SPAM and I wanted to keep my business posts on my business account but that everything now and again I might share a cute dog here and there. They reported that post for spam and reported another post of mine where I was just asking to connect with other businesses in the area. Suspended my account again for a month. I reported this to support and Kelly gets back to me, confirming that there is nothing they can do. That I was breaking the rules by spamming and the moderators have control and decided it was spam. I will no longer be using Nextdoor from here on out. I genuinely cared about helping my community and sharing our business but there are other ways to so that. I don’t need Nextdoor, I have Facebook and Instagram. But still am disappointed that such a good idea for an app chooses to be that controlling and biased for no reason. Really not a good look. Just check Nextdoor instagram comments…… Other people are not pleased

Kind of Pointless

I open the app to find posts about my neighborhood and have to scroll through so many post from other communities that I don’t care about. I unfollowed everything and still see other neighborhoods. I am not coming here for news I want to see what is happening NEXTDOOR!

Garbage

You can’t say anything on here or have a original thought they will take it down quickly nothing but a bunch of whining adult babies that are just waiting for their time to shine when maybe they will become the head of their home owners association until then they will make sure people can’t have a open and honest grown up conversation maybe with opposing views between what’s supposed to be adults .Maybe adults just can’t have a normal conversation anymore at least on this app you can’t .

Censorship and ads

Can’t post anything negative, B.S. rule and guidelines. No freedom of speech. More ads than a magazine. Scam ads and for sale post.

RACIST

I live in a very very racist area and whenever I talk about the racism I experience there my account gets suspended.

Bad App Suppprt

The app randomly freezes for over a year now. Does not matter what apple phone model and iOS 17 and the latest…there support says we know about it but sorry…

Political

This was supposed to be about helping people out, not politics

Modern Nextdoor app is terrible.

Take all the parts of Facebook, all the worst parts of LinkedIn and then make all the content you see 50% ads. Thats the modern Nextdoor app. It feels like 2% of the content is actually good, relevant local information.

Fantastic app

I have really enjoyed Nextdoor. They are not so anal like Facebook is.

Nextdoor

I enjoy the Nextdoor app very helpful and friendly

James Dennis

I was wondering where I have clients in Lawrenceburg Kentucky and in Frankfort Kentucky can I get both counties on the app instead of just Frankfort Kentucky?

Tribal when it comes to who is moderator In your neighborhood.

We were trying to start a home business, and someone, a non paid moderator was flagging everything posted, and banned us for posting the same service someone else is doing In the neighborhood. I do NOT recommend.

Nextdoor

Biased & censored does not allow freedom of speech Heavily monitored and will censor even if something is factually true If your views don’t align with theirs your account will be suspended…. Go to Nextdoor jail Worse than Facebook

New Facebook

If you enjoy Facebook than this is the app for you. If you don’t like facebook and deleted your Facebook years ago then don’t get this app. It’s basically Facebook. Buy with your neighbors. Posting about politics, pictures of their dinner and grandkids.

Excellent app

Excellent app for connecting with your neighbors

Censorship at the local level

This app does nothing but censor all opinions that it does not agree with. Speaking about who we want in office for instance can be banned while talking about witchcraft is OK. People are also banned for calling out public figures such as city council members or HOA board members by Maine. They also censor discussion about religion and let’s not forget COVID

Don’t use this app

I would rate zero stars if I could. They indefinitely suspend your account for the most heinous reasons. Who cares if you partially use your name. Not everybody needs to know your full name.. No worries, there’s better neighborhood apps besides this one.

Unfortunate

I thought this was to learn about your neighborhood. When it started I guess it was ok to just be a person/family just communicating with your neighborhood but now it is only for small businesses. That is great! I just wish it was still a neighborhood community app.

Lentils

Me gustaría que la app estuviera disponible en Español

What’s this app for anyway

This app is over run by old people with no sense of community and a need to be a victim, I genuinely would not recommend it to anyone looking for real community

Impossible to Get Help

I always filter the content by “Recent” so I’m seeing the latest posts. For whatever reason, trying to filter things doesn’t work. It quit working during the last update, and it has completely stopped with this newest update. It only shows older posts. I can’t see anything newer than one day. The only way I know I’m missing content is because of “Alerts”. And when trying to get help, it’s impossible. I click on “Help” and I’m endlessly redirected through the app to my internet browser then back to the app and then back to my internet browser. This is ridiculous.

Non-stop junk emails.

I’ve unsubscribed, I deleted my account, but the emails keep coming. So I unsubscribe from all of them again. A few days later, I get new notifications from things that weren’t even subscribed to before. They just keep creating new things to send emails from.

Biggest collection of Karens out there

Nextdoor is worse than Facebook! It's literally a dumping ground for everybody's gripes and complaints! I literally have to skip past the newsfeed as fast as I can just to look for stuff for sale. I've never seen so many unhappy grumpy people that feel like their neighbors need to hear about it.

Dysfunctional app

How would you offer someone to display their first name and initial (at least for protection) and then INDEFINITELY SUSPEND my account for using a fake name. Then want my id? Too much hassle to protect my safety.

Very Disappointed

I’ve been using next door for years. Suddenly for the past year it says I have a business when I don’t and I haven’t been able to sign in, delete, or connect with anyone on this app. It is showing false information about me owning a business and keeping me out of the loop of my community. I’ve tried everything including contacting Nextdoor with no luck. I’ve made so many recommendations on this app, made friends but now never so disappointed it can’t be straightened out without some authoritarian.

TOOK MY MONEY

Nextdoor took my $93 for an ad, then immediately suspended my account! If I violated any policies, why accept my payment in the first place? This is completely unacceptable—either reinstate my account or refund my money. It’s shady business practice to take payment and then cut off access without warning. I wouldn’t recommend using this platform for advertising until they fix their policies!!!!!!

Terrible

Every other day they keep deactivating my account. I’m tired of it. They want to suspend your account for silly reasons. Nextdoor needs to be suspended for not having contact information. When you have a problem who do you call? Who do you chat with? Nobody. You can’t even have a nickname as a username or your account is suspended. They want the name on your I.D. even if you’re just saying hi. If you get this app be careful especially if you’re promoting your business. Give your clients/ customers your number because if your account suspended say goodbye to all those people.

Do NOT like latest updates ~~3/22/25

UPDATE 3/28/25 - on iPhone and iPad it’s back to old way, with buttons at top of Feed (For You, Recent,Trending, etc). Thank you. Not sure why it changed and then changed back but I’m glad. [end] ~~~~~~~~Hello- don’t like the latest update(s). I’ve had to reset my feed preference to “Recent” EVERY time I check the app (once I found the setting in the little icon, instead of the very clear and handy header that was there a week ago). The preference setting doesn’t seem to stay in place. Also don’t like the comments count section. Please change back. Numbers in different types of bubbles was fine. Thanks for listening.

Loves white supremacists

Has no problem, silencing marginalized communities, but loves to uphold white supremacy

I love Nextdoor

I scroll thru and find so many cool things, photos, friends and stuff for sale nearby. Thanks to everyone participating!

Join if you want to be abused by your neighbors

What is it about this app that attracts hateful people and judgmental neighbors. This app turns neighbors against each other. Awful and I will never use again.

Need better moderators

The app works great. However the choice of moderators is very lacking. You mention the word pray and you get suspended - while allowing others to name call and use obvious false names for their accounts. I’ve had enough and deleted my account. Change this process and I would love to return.

2025

Year of Local abundance

Most conservative censoring their is

I already submitted a review to inform others of all the crooked things this platform will do to conservatives, but I see it was never seen & now has disappeared, as if I never submitted it. I would say stay clear of this app unless you just want to use it to find your dog or cat.

Ad’s

Ads are ok, but when you to hide them they are like a plaque always coming back. The advertisements are relentless. Every other comment someone makes there’s an ad. It needs to stop!!!

Deleting app

This is less informative and more a platform for annoying ads. Quite disappointing.

Thought this was local to my neighborhood

I joined because I thought it was going to be my neighbors, in my neighborhood. Rhapsody Heights in Midwest city. It’s from all over , many adds .. not liking this . I will probably delete

Love the app

Great to connect with neighbors and other business owners! I use this app to stay in touch with what is going on and I’ve been able to promote my business here.

Unstable and full of deceptive ads

The app hangs every few minutes and requires me to force close it. Every other post now is an ad that is designed to look like a neighbor's post. They took the worst aspects of Facebook and LinkedIn and have ruined this service.

Nextdoor Humera cafe & Deli

Excited to use Nextdoor to reach out neighbors on the network. Humera Cafe & Deli is serving various foods in addition to vegan, vegetarian and cultural foods. Foods are unique for those who would like to enjoy real taste and natural flavors.

Dictators

I posted a review of a person on this app who was flipping off my wife with my kid in the card, and they canceled my account just like that. There was no warning, no nothing. They claimed it was because I changed my name, which I did. After all, I didn't feel safe due to the crazy people in society nowadays. On 3/25/25, I got a response from them saying that they suspended my accounts, but they flat-out canceled my account indefinitely. I was trying to keep my neighborhood abreast of a pair of Bommers committing hate crimes. One person can complain confidently about “name change,” Now I have to jump through hoops to appease and prove that I am myself. I don't need y'all; keep your Scientology of an app.

Bias

Nextdoor is widely recognized as a Dem stronghold a biased site favoring the Democratics.

Hilarious

This app is ridiculous. People treat it like Facebook. It’s useless yet incredibly entertaining.
