Nextdoor: Neighborhood Network App Reviews

For making a post saying "life is beautiful," I got banned from this app. The "leads" in this forum are allowed to delete your posts whenever they want as well as ban you from an app thats not even theirs. I received so much negativity on this app from one local lead and thats all it took to get deleted. Dont get this app, they silence your freedom of speech.

Fabulous way to communicate important information for events or things happening in our hood!

This app is amazing! The app has you verify yourself via billing statements or postcard so you know the person posting is a real person. Most neighbors dont post face pictures instead small picture that cant make out a face or animals make up a persons avatar. This is the key ingredient that shields people from their racist post about colored people in a neighborhood and sed colored people also complain about gentrifiers harassing them in a neighborhood they have lived in their entire lives. Other great features is community involvement. One of our neighbors organized people and made that pesky airport change flight routes because the noise stressed out animals and conversations needed to be had using megaphones. This app is a great experiment on the human condition regarding subtle racism and the power of group politics in our American communities. Five stars!

I started a "neighborhood" for my subdivision. Everyone seems to love it. Ive sold an item, purchased some items, been notified of issue others have had, and taken part in a neighborhood-wide yard sale, etc. with NextDoor. AFAIK, NextDoor is the best and only way to get this closely connected with your neighbors in todays busy world.

Rather than sending pictures of your lunch to your high school friends, talk to you neighbors about what matters to all of you on a day to day basis. Great mobile app, great web service. Use the web to get beyond your fence!

Weve just moved into the area. NextDoor has made us feel like a part of the neighborhood by giving a voice to all those blank house facades. My neighbors have shared all sorts of vital information: the dates of reuse pickup, police department warnings, etc.

I may not know all of my neighbors faces, but the ones on Nextdoor are definitely known. Nextdoor United us by a common interest; making our neighborhood better and safer. Great App.

I wish I could only see posts from my neighborhood and not the other neighborhoods around me.

Been warming to this app as Ive used it. I find I FAR prefer the mobile UI to the web one (horribad!). But this could use a host of improvements to the UX and make common tasks so much easier. I completed a survey recently so I hope they take the feedback to heart and continue to improve a great app!

I love this App! I love how they verify so I know Im dealing with real neighbors. Im on this app daily. Ive bought things too. Its just a great outlet for everything happening and/or needing in your neighborhood! Great job!

Join this community like I did and find out who they promote as your "neighbor". I canceled my account the morning that our county tax person joined the conversation. This app was a good idea but I am not about to pretend to be loved by the tax man. The government IS NOT my neighbor! Im giving it one star because they need to do a better job of informing folks about their government affiliation beforehand.
